The Best Plays Inc. was established to organize The Best Plays Festival. Taking over an unprecedented record of gross attendance 170,000 and 81% of capacity over a year from The 1st Best Plays Festival which was launched by Dongsoong Art Center Theatre Company in 2004, The Best Plays Inc. was established in 2007. Suggesting a paradigm shift for Korean theater with young directors and popular stars, The 2nd Best Plays Festival in 2008 emerged as a hot issue for its theatrical brilliance.

The 3rd Best Plays Festival in 2010 presented modern interpretation of classics. The 4th Best Play Festival became an opportunity to confirm our expanded production capability. The 5th Best Play Festival focused on introducing exquisite plays recognized with prestigious awards such as The Tony, The Laurence Olivier and The Evening Standard. The 6th Best Plays Festival introduced new plays that carry philosophical messages regarding social issues. The 7th Best Plays Festival, full of plays written with unique grammar, appealed to contemporary audiences by debating timely topic. The 8th Best Play Festival brought 4 new plays in, asking valid questions with sincere voice. The ongoing 9th Best Play Festival including new plays and musical delivers clear message that our life should be valued.

Our goals are evident: to produce outstanding Korean plays as repertory; to look for new plays and playwrights to support; to introduce remarkable plays from outside of the country. These have been our compass throughout our history and will be our future roadmap. Everyone will be connected; everyone who creates theater and everyone who experiences it will be linked through our production.
